The stark beauty of the African bushveld is a sobering and prophetic experience. And Kwandwe Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape is no exception. However, on this foray into the 250,000-hectare reserve, I found myself laughing uproariously with my international companions. Not only did I get to see Africa’s wildlife through virgin eyes, but I also learnt that not all cultures have the same conservation beliefs.
